Job summary

Voyager Technologies is seeking a Principal Automation Software Engineer to lead software architecture and data infrastructure for laboratory automation and high-throughput pipelines in our Defense & National Security segment. The role requires 7+ years in automation software engineering or a related leadership role, with expertise in C#, Python, C/C++, SQL, and experience integrating robotic platforms.

Onsite in Penrose, CO with DoD clearance eligibility and strong cross-functional

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive experience in automation software engineering or technical leadership.
• Proven full SDLC experience for complex automation/instrumentation systems.
• Experience with multiple programming languages including C#, Python, C/C++, SQL.
• Experience integrating robotic hardware platforms and analytical instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead software engineer for multi-phase automation programs from architecture to deployment.
• Develop and maintain automation software pipelines for high-throughput testing.
• Oversee software baseline definition, version control and configuration management.
• Design secure, scalable data handling and real-time visualization systems.
• Interface with program management and internal customers for technical scoping and cost estimation.
• Mentor and oversee junior engineers and drive process improvements.
• Drive safety, quality, reliability, and throughput in automation software environments.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Safety, and Compliance teams across product lifecycles.
