Job summary

Voyager Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Principal Automation Software Engineer to lead the design, development, and deployment of complex automation software for laboratory and manufacturing environments in the defense sector.

The role requires 7+ years of progressive experience with expertise in software architecture, control systems, and data infrastructure, and the ability to coordinate across multi-site teams. Onsite in Penrose, CO with opportunities to shape enterprise R&D programs.

Qualifications

• Lead the full software development lifecycle for complex automation/Instrumentation systems.
• Architect scalable software systems integrating hardware, databases, and real-time data pipelines.
• Proficient in C#, Python, C/C++, and SQL; experience with robotics interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Serve as lead software engineer for multi-phase automation programs from architecture to deployment.
• Develop and maintain automation pipelines for high-throughput testing with integrated sensors and robotics.
• Oversee software baseline definition, version control, and configuration management across teams.
• Design secure, scalable data handling and real-time visualization systems; plan deployment packaging for global rollouts.
• Interface with program management and customers for technical discussions, cost estimates, and proposals.
• Mentor and oversee junior engineers; drive process improvements and documentation standards.
• Implement continuous improvements to safety, quality, reliability, and throughput in automated environments.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Safety, and Compliance to embed software best practices across lifecycle.
