Job summary

GE Vernova's Automation & Robotics Technician role provides hands-on installation, maintenance, and optimization of robotic systems in a manufacturing environment. You will work with engineers, maintenance teams, and production staff to keep automated equipment safe, reliable, and productive with minimal downtime.

The role covers programming and troubleshooting PLCs, CNCs, HMIs, and robotic cells; you will participate in system upgrades, commissioning, and reliability improvements while ensuring

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certification in Mechatronics, Robotics, Industrial Automation, or Electrical/Mechanical Technology.
• 2+ years experience in a manufacturing or automation environment.
• Basic knowledge of industrial robotics, PLC systems, electrical troubleshooting, and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain robotic systems and automated production equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections on robotic cells, conveyors, sensors, and automated machinery.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control system issues.
• Assist with programming, editing, and troubleshooting robotic, CNC, and PLC programs.
• Support PLC troubleshooting, modifications, and I/O diagnostics.
• Work with HMI interfaces to monitor and adjust system operations.
• Respond to downtime events and diagnose/process issues with production teams.
• Maintain documentation of repairs, modifications, and maintenance activities.
• Engage in reliability engineering efforts – FMEA, Spares, TPM, etc.
• Follow safety standards and assist with lockout/tagout procedures.
