Job summary

A leading specialty paper manufacturer is seeking a Process Controls Engineer to support and enhance mill-wide automation, instrumentation, and control systems. This role will focus on improving process reliability and optimizing production performance.

The ideal candidate will partner with operations and maintenance teams, utilizing their knowledge of DCS, PLC, and HMI systems to enhance efficiency across a complex manufacturing operation. Competitive salary and relocation assistance offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, Process Controls, or related discipline) is preferred but not required.
• Working knowledge of DCS, PLCs, HMIs, and industrial communications networks.
• Experience in paper, pulp, tissue, chemical, or other continuous-process manufacturing environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support and improve DCS, PLC, HMI, and industrial network systems throughout the facility.
• Develop, modify, and troubleshoot control strategies, machine logic, and operator interfaces.
• Lead process optimization efforts through control loop tuning, data analysis, and performance monitoring.
• Partner with operations and maintenance teams to identify and resolve process and equipment issues.
• Utilize process historians and manufacturing data to identify improvement opportunities and reduce downtime.
