Job summary

BiOrigin Specialty Products in Ladysmith, WI is seeking a Process Controls Engineer to develop and manage analysis methods for determining reliability of components, equipment, and processes. The role focuses on continuous process improvement and development within a paper mill.

The engineer will configure, troubleshoot, and enhance control systems, work with maintenance and operations, and lead efforts to minimize downtime while ensuring process stability.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Pulp/Paper Science).
• Minimum of five years process control experience.
• Experience with DCS and PLCs.
• Knowledge of instrumentation and electrical systems for process control.
• Experience with OSI PI and Honeywell PHD historians.
• Understanding of P&ID drawings and loop sheets; able to create drawings.
• Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment with PPE.

Responsibilities

• Manage control system equipment, software, and applications for the process.
• Implement control strategies for new equipment and modify existing controls.
• Troubleshoot and resolve process equipment issues to stay within limits.
• Maintain electrical schematics and library copies.
• Develop data historian reports and perform system maintenance.
• Configure and troubleshoot DCS, PLC, and HMI interfaces.
• Support capital projects with project justification and management.
• Monitor control system performance and tune loops.
