Job summary

PPG Industries, Inc. is seeking a Process Controls Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the plant's process control, instrumentation, and electrical systems to ensure safe, reliable manufacturing operations.

You will support production, maintenance and engineering teams by ensuring PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and networking perform within design parameters and in compliance with policies and regulations.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years in process controls, instrumentation, automation, and electrical systems in manufacturing.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMI/SCADA, industrial networks, and process instrumentation.
• Able to read electrical schematics, P&IDs, loop drawings, and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot process control systems including PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and networks.
• Support Allen Bradley PLC platforms, SCADA, HMI apps, and communication networks.
• Resolve process control issues impacting production, quality, safety, or reliability.
• Monitor system performance and identify opportunities to improve control strategies and plant automation.
• Specify and troubleshoot process instrumentation including flow meters, pressure transmitters, temperature instruments, level instruments, control valves, analyzers.
• Assist and troubleshoot issues with maintenance and operations technicians for efficient operation of the facility.
• Support electrical systems troubleshooting and modifications.
• Ensure instrumentation and electrical equipment operate within design parameters.

As the Process Controls Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, improving, and supporting the plant's process control, automation, instrumentation, and electrical systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient manufacturing operations. You will support production, maintenance, and engineering teams by ensuring control systems, instrumentation, PLCs, HMIs, networking, and related electrical systems perform while complying with company policies and regulatory requirements.
