McCormick & Company, Hunt Valley Plant, seeks a Process Controls/Electrical Controls Technician for the 1st shift. The role supports electrical, controls, and automation systems across manufacturing, packaging, and utilities, ensuring safe and efficient plant operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical degree or apprenticeship in electrical, controls or automation preferred.
• Experience troubleshooting electrical and control systems in a manufacturing, industrial, food manufacturing, packaging, or process environment.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, control schematics, PLC logic, manuals, and technical documentation.
• Ability to troubleshoot, replace and commission variable frequency and servo drives.
• Ability to troubleshoot and modify FactoryTalk View ME HMI applications.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, organization, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with Maintenance, Operations, Quality, and Safety teams.
• Demonstrated ability to work in cross-functional groups and lead improvement teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for electrical and control systems in manufacturing and facility operations.
• Troubleshoot electrical circuits, control systems, motor controls, sensors, and automation equipment.
• Use drawings, PLC logic, HMI screens, manuals, and diagnostics to identify and resolve issues.
• Assist Engineering and Maintenance in diagnosing recurring failures and corrective actions.
• Restore equipment to safe, reliable operation with minimal production disruption.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and electrical drawings.
• Document changes to PLC/HMI/electrical drawings per site procedures.
• Upgrade/replace obsolete machines or subsystems.
• Provide technical support during new equipment installations and startups.
• Provide technical training to maintenance teams as needed.
• Support continuous improvement projects.
• Participate in root cause analysis for downtime.
