Job summary

PWT in the United States is seeking a Control Engineer to support manufacturing operations, focusing on process controls including PLCs, motion controls, and other computer-based systems. The role emphasizes hands-on troubleshooting, documentation, and collaboration with maintenance and production teams.

Ideal candidates hold an A.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or Industrial Control Systems with 1–3 years of PLC programming experience, knowledge of NEC, and familiarity with Allen-Bradley

Qualifications

  • A.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or Industrial Control Systems (minimum).
  • 1–3 years' experience programming PLC systems.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics.
  • Knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC).
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley software including RSLinx, FactoryTalk Linx and Studio 5000.
  • Ability to program, troubleshoot and update HMI software such as Ignition.
  • Ability to create and modify electrical schematics in AutoCAD.
  • Knowledge of SQL databases.
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting analog and discrete field devices.

Responsibilities

  • Work with maintenance teams to implement and start up new control systems and improvement projects.
  • Assist maintenance in troubleshooting during startups and daily operations.
  • Provide and maintain system documentation.
  • Communicate concerns to Maintenance Manager.
  • Identify poor process flow, source issues, and resolve them.
  • Provide training for operations and maintenance staff on new processes and systems.
  • Other duties as assigned.
