Job summary

West Pharmaceutical Services, Inc. is seeking a skilled Automation Engineer to perform electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic automation work in a manufacturing environment.

You will contribute to problem solving, performance improvements, and documentation for existing automation, while supporting new automation initiatives. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in engineering and at least 3 years of related experience, with strong PLC skills and familiarity with OSI PI and Cognex systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering with 3+ years related experience in manufacturing.
• Experience in PLC automation/control and automation systems.
• Familiarity with OSI PI, Cognex vision systems and SAP is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in electrical, electronic, mechanical and pneumatic design modifications for automation.
• Analyze problems on existing automation and propose design changes or component replacements.
• Develop and install automation per production demands; prepare URS, purchase and install.
• Evaluate automation systems to improve performance, reliability and cost.
• Coordinate fabrication, installation, validation and documentation of automation projects.
