Job summary
Hydro is seeking a PLC Programmer in Indiana to support rotating shifts (6pm–6am: 3 on/3 off, then 4 on/4 off) for Hydro Extrusions North America. You will independently program, troubleshoot, and support PLC-controlled equipment, integrating PLCs with HMIs and sensors, and collaborating with engineering on system upgrades.
Required is 3–5 years of hands-on PLC experience, plus knowledge of ladder logic and Allen-Bradley software.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience programming and supporting PLC-controlled equipment.
- Ability to modify and troubleshoot PLC ladder logic for improvements.
- Experience with automation hardware and industrial safety practices.
Responsibilities
- Program and configure PLC-controlled systems and safety logic.
- Develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC ladder logic and related code.
- Install, program, and troubleshoot PLC systems in industrial environments.
- Troubleshoot and repair PLC systems and components.
- Integrate PLCs with HMIs, sensors, and actuators.
- Collaborate with engineering on upgrades and improvements.
- Train junior technicians and provide technical support.
- Support Continuous Reliability Improvement initiatives.
- Occasionally assist mechanical technicians (~30% time).
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and urgent restoration actions.
