Job summary

EVONA is seeking an Automation & Mechatronics Engineer to join its robotics, controls & testing team in Texas. The role blends mechanical, electrical, and software aspects to design automated testing systems, control panels, and electromechanical fixtures.

You will develop Python-based test software, integrate embedded controllers, sensors, and actuators, and work with CAN, UART, SPI, and I2C communications to improve reliability and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Experience in automation engineering, mechatronics, robotics, or automated testing.
• Hands-on experience building or integrating automated hardware systems.
• Working knowledge of Python or another relevant programming language.
• Understanding of embedded electronics, instrumentation, and communication protocols.
• Familiarity with actuators, motors, sensors, or motion-control systems.
• Engineering degree in a relevant discipline.

Responsibilities

• Design and build automated testing systems, control panels, and electromechanical fixtures.
• Develop Python-based software to automate test sequences, control instrumentation, and capture test data.
• Integrate embedded controllers, sensors, motors, and actuators into automated systems.
• Interface with hardware using CAN, UART, SPI, I2C, and other communication protocols.
• Develop and improve automation solutions for production and assembly environments.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and software issues.
• Work alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams to improve test reliability and efficiency.
