Job summary

MACOM is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Engineering Automation team. You will develop Python-based automation systems for instrument control, data acquisition, and the analysis of large-scale RF/microwave datasets.

You will work with RF engineers and lab personnel to automate workflows and manage data across complex measurement platforms. The role emphasizes software that controls lab instrumentation, automates tests, and delivers data-driven insights to accelerate product development

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
Experience with Python or another modern programming language.
Experience using Git for source control and collaboration.
Ability to work independently or in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

Develop software applications for engineering test, characterization, and validation.
Design instrument-control software for lab equipment (network analyzers, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, power meters, switch matrices, probe stations).
Automate engineering workflows to improve repeatability and reduce manual effort.
Create GUIs, dashboards, and visualization tools for engineering data access.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement automation and data analysis.
