Job summary

MACOM in San Diego, CA is seeking a Senior Engineering Technician to support the development and testing of advanced MMIC devices and modules. You will set up RF/microwave test benches, calibrate equipment, and analyze test data to enable rapid prototyping.

The role requires hands-on experience with RF measurements, familiarity with network and spectrum analyzers, and CAD tools; AS degree and 8 years’ related experience preferred.

Qualifications

• AS degree and minimum of 8 years of related experience.
• Familiar with RF measurements (S-parameters, noise figure, power/gain compression, phase and time delay, harmonics, IMD).
• Experience with RF test equipment: network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, noise figure meters, power meters, oscilloscopes, signal generators.
• CAD tools: AutoCAD or DraftSight; AWR Microwave Office or ADS is a plus.
• Able to assemble small items for test environments including microelectronic and solder techniques.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• ITAR: US-person required (citizenship or permanent residency).

Responsibilities

• Set up, calibrate and maintain RF/microwave/mm-wave test benches and instruments.
• Test and tune MMICs and module circuits and fixtures.
• Run automated test programs and analyze data.
• Adjust, tune and calibrate prototypes from diagrams or verbal instructions.
• Support testing and maintenance of equipment used.
• Summarize test data in spreadsheets, reports or presentations.
