Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Maintenance Technician for an onsite role in Romeoville, IL. The position focuses on preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of automated material handling equipment, including conveyors, sortation, scales, and printers.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting electrical/mechanical systems, diagnosing low-voltage circuits, and logging work orders. Shifts are listed in the posting, with a pay range of $33–$40 per hour.

Qualifications

• Experience in automation, troubleshooting, maintenance technician roles.
• Proficiency in preventive maintenance and repair techniques.
• Knowledge of PLC programming and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Strong understanding of safety procedures, hydraulics, and pneumatics.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair automated material handling and facility equipment to ensure high availability and operational readiness.
• Utilize preventive and predictive maintenance processes to rapidly restore equipment functionality.
• Diagnose low-voltage circuits and electronic components using multi-meters, infrared thermometers, job plans, and electrical schematics.
• Log work orders in the asset management system via handheld devices, capturing accurate labor hours, downtime, root cause, resolution, and spare parts used.
• Operate Powered Industrial Trucks and service vehicles within the interior, exterior yard, and between local facilities or stores to procure necessary parts and supplies.
