Job summary

Pratt & Whitney in Asheville, NC, part of RTX, is hiring an Automation Leader to define vision, roadmap, and deployment for next‑gen factory modernization. You will scale an automation engineering team and stand up Asheville’s OT Network, coordinating with executives on multi‑million dollar CapEx.

The role requires 10+ years in automation, strong leadership of engineering teams, and deep knowledge of PLC/SCADA, Industry 4.0, and MES integrations. Onsite work with CORE/EH&S adherence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field with 10+ years of related experience, OR an Advanced Degree with 8+ years of experience. In lieu of a degree, 14+ years of related experience is required.
• Engineering Team Leadership: Direct people management or formal project team leadership overseeing engineering personnel within industrial controls and automation environments.
• Core Controls & Industrial Automation: Hands-on experience with PLCs, SCADA, hardware, firmware, and CAD/PLM data management.
• Industry 4.0 & OT Networks: Experience managing digital transformation projects and building/scaling OT networks.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the automation vision, roadmap, and deployment strategy for the Asheville lighthouse site—SCADA, PLC, robotics, OT network, and MES integration.
• Lead a team of automation engineers to implement and sustain factory automation across engineered processes and data integration.
• Stand up and manage the OT Network for Industry 4.0 initiatives with monitoring, OEE/OLE, and metrics reporting.
• Drive alignment on process capability, control tools, and data analytics optimization (MB-DMI, MES, quality systems).
• Lead capital planning, equipment specs, ROI analysis, and budget management for automation investments.
• Develop and report transformation progress metrics to executives; standardize automation equipment and tooling; grow team capabilities.
