Job summary

Thunderbird is seeking an Automation Integrator to design, program, integrate, and troubleshoot industrial automation across our Metals manufacturing facilities. This role leads projects from concept through commissioning, collaborating with Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, Quality, IT, and external integrators to improve safety, reliability, and productivity.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in automation design, integration and commissioning within a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in PLC and HMI programming, robotics, and control-system documentation.
Experience interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and industrial networks.

Responsibilities

Design, program, configure, and troubleshoot PLC/HMI, industrial computers, and machine-control systems.
Integrate automation equipment with robotics, machine vision, sensors, and plant software platforms.
Lead automation projects from concept through commissioning and production launch.
Configure, commission, and troubleshoot servo motors, VFDs, motion-control, and networks.
Develop control-system architecture, electrical schematics, panel layouts, and sequences of operation.
Provide advanced technical support and ensure systems meet safety and quality standards.
