Allocate is seeking a Quality Engineer II to join the team, leveraging AI tools like Claude Code to accelerate test creation and grow automation across E2E user flows and REST APIs. You’ll collaborate with engineers and product to shape test coverage for new features, troubleshoot failures, and drive quality early in development in a fully remote, full-time role in the United States.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code) and using AI to accelerate testing.
• Breaker’s mindset to know when automation covers a scenario vs manual validation.
• Browser automation with Playwright or modern frameworks.
• Experience testing REST-based web applications (front and back end) including Swagger UI.
• Proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Git and source control workflows.
• Ability to write and execute SQL queries to verify data.
• Troubleshooting test failures by interpreting stack traces and reproducing bugs.
• Strong communication and proactive attitude.
• 2-4 years of Quality Engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Use Claude Code to generate and refine automated tests.
• Build automated coverage for E2E user flows and REST APIs.
• Collaborate with engineers and product to plan test coverage for new features.
• Troubleshoot failures, investigate logs, and perform root cause analysis.
• Become a subject matter expert in the product domain and edge cases.
• Champion quality early in development with meaningful coverage.
• Stay current on AI capabilities in testing and share learnings.
• Participate in team meetings and maintain strong remote communication.
