Job summary

Allocate is hiring a Quality Engineer II to join a fully remote team in the United States. The role centers on automation-first testing, leveraging AI tools like Claude Code to accelerate test creation, expand coverage, and sustain high quality as the product scales.

You will build automated coverage for E2E flows and REST APIs, collaborate with engineering and product teams, and push for strong testability and early quality standards. Travel for offsites may be required.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g. Claude Code).
• Strong instincts for breaking web-based software and knowing when automation covers a scenario.
• Browser automation with Playwright or modern test frameworks.
• Experience testing REST-based web apps (front and back end).
• Proficiency in TypeScript and JavaScript.
• Git and CI workflows familiarity.
• Ability to write and execute SQL queries.
• Ability to troubleshoot test failures via logs and data.

Responsibilities

• Use Claude Code to generate, maintain, and refine automated tests.
• Build and maintain automated coverage across E2E user flows and REST APIs.
• Plan test cases and coverage for new features with engineers and product.
• Troubleshoot failures, analyze logs, reproduce bugs, and drive root-cause analysis.
