Job summary

Gentex Corp. is seeking an Automation Engineer to design, implement, and optimize automated manufacturing systems at its Carbondale, PA facility. You will integrate robotics, PLCs, sensors, and machine vision while supporting DFA/DFM practices and ensuring safety and quality.

You will work with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and IT to drive continuous improvement, reduce downtime, and improve OEE. A BS in a technical field and experience in automation are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in a technical field is required.
• Certifications in automation, robotics, PLC programming, or industrial controls are preferred.
• Training or certifications in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvements preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, maintain, and improve automated manufacturing systems and processes.
• Identify opportunities to automate and improve efficiency, quality, safety, and cost.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and Engineering.
• Support installation, startup, commissioning, and qualification of automated systems.
• Troubleshoot automation equipment and processes to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
• Develop and maintain equipment parameters, recipes, and control settings.
• Contribute to design for automation and manufacturability in new products and processes.
• Support documentation and standardization of automation practices and platforms.
