Job description

The Automation Engineer designs, builds, and maintains automation solutions that support the company's business processes, working closely to implement approved automation and AI initiatives. This is a hands‑on technical role focused on development, testing, and deployment of automation tools and integrations across departments, following the standards and architecture set by the Director of Automation & Enterprise Architecture.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and deploy automation workflows and scripts to streamline business processes.
  • Partner with department stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Build and maintain integrations between internal systems and automation/AI platforms.
  • Test and validate automation solutions prior to deployment, ensuring reliability and accuracy.
  • Monitor deployed automations for performance issues and troubleshoot as needed.
  • Document automation processes, configurations, and technical specifications.
  • Support the company's automation and AI partner engagement by assisting with technical implementation of approved use cases.
  • Follow enterprise architecture standards and security guidelines.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation across the organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Participate in the Bank’s High-Performance Rewards Connections program.
  • Make referrals to the Mortgage Center and Wealth Management.
  • Maintains a thorough knowledge of Bank products, services, policies, procedures, and appropriate regulatory issues as related to daily job functions including but not limited to: Bank Secrecy Act; Privacy Act; Fair Lending Act; Regulation E, etc. Completes required compliance training and adhere to the Bank’s standard of conduct.
Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 2-4 years of experience in software development, systems engineering, or automation/RPA development.
  • Experience with automation or scripting languages and tools (e.g., Python, PowerShell, RPA platforms).
  • Familiarity with APIs, system integrations, and data workflows.
  • Basic understanding of enterprise architecture principles and security best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated experience scoping and delivering automation or AI initiatives, ideally including vendor/partner-led engagements.
