Job summary

Montauk Energy, a renewable energy leader, seeks an Automation Engineer to support 15 operating plants across the U.S. You will design, program, and troubleshoot PLCs and HMIs, drive process improvements, and support data analytics and IT needs.

You will help develop SOPs, training materials, and start-up activities for new projects. The role requires 3+ years in automation, BS in engineering, and strong knowledge of Siemens/Allen‑Bradley platforms.

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals and automation systems.
• Minimum 3 years in automation with HMI/SCADA and PLC design.
• Experience with plant startups, commissioning, and process control.
• Proficiency with Siemens/Allen-Bradley platforms and related software.

Responsibilities

• Program and troubleshoot PLCs and HMIs across facilities.
• Lead process improvement initiatives at existing plants.
• Support data gathering, analytics and IT-related tasks.
• Assist with SOP creation, training materials, and plant startup activities.
• Develop equipment and programming cost estimates for projects.
