Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is seeking a Project Engineer in the United States (Wesley Chapel, FL or other listed locations) to apply expertise in electric power systems and SEL products.

The role involves leading design, configuration, validation, installation, commissioning and operation of automation and protection systems, while mentoring staff and driving projects on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline.
• 5+ years relevant application experience with electric power systems and related focus area practices.
• Knowledge of electric power system protection, control, integration, automation and communications.
• Willing to travel domestically and internationally at least 25%.
• Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
• Ability to learn new skills and work cooperatively in a team.

Responsibilities

• Apply knowledge of power system focus area and SEL products to complex assignments.
• Lead training and assist customers with design configuration, validation, installation, commissioning and operation of automation/protection systems.
• Lead in planning work within scope, schedule and budget to high quality and safety standards.
• Assist in preparing and presenting proposals for SEL equipment, services and systems.
• Mentor staff; may supervise as necessary.
• Model and apply SEL values and manufacturing principles.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
