Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an Automation Engineer to own the optimization and support of automated assembly, test, and production systems in our facility. You will enhance performance, reliability, and process capability while collaborating with Operations and Engineering teams.

Responsibilities include PLC/controls development, HMI updates, and new equipment integration. Strong problem-solving, documentation, and Lean practices are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or related field.
• Hands-on PLC programming and HMI development experience.
• Experience with automation equipment and robotics.
• Strong RCA, troubleshooting, and data-driven improvement.
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
• Excellent documentation and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Improve, maintain, and support automated assembly, test, and production systems.
• Increase equipment performance, reliability, and OEE.
• Lead PLC programming, controls, and software development.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and Engineering to drive CI.
• Lead new equipment integration and vendor reviews.
• Maintain electrical schematics, I/O lists, and change documentation.
