Job summary

Lilly is seeking an Automation Engineer to join the Equipment Development Group in Indianapolis. The role focuses on electrical system design, software architecture, and machine vision solutions for automated manufacturing equipment across global sites.

Responsibilities include designing, coding, validation, and safety documentation; leading capital projects; and mentoring EDG staff while aligning with GMP and cybersecurity objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related science.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in automation machine control or equivalent.
• Experience with Allen‑Bradley PLC/HMI platforms and machine vision.

Responsibilities

• Provide electrical system design and architecture for automated manufacturing equipment.
• Perform electrical design, software design, coding, and debugging using PLC RS Logix, HMI, and related tools.
• Create validation and safety documentation, including FAT execution and machine safety reports.
• Provide automation leadership on capital projects and collaborate with external system integrators.
• Support cybersecurity and engineering information management initiatives.
