Job summary
Lilly, headquartered in Indianapolis, IN, seeks an experienced Automation Engineer to design and oversee electrical systems for automated manufacturing equipment. You will work with Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMI platforms, machine vision, and safety documentation, leading capital projects and collaborating across engineering, quality, and operations.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related science.
- Experience with automation machine control and process control.
- Proficiency in Allen-Bradley PLC/HMI platforms and machine vision applications.
- Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Responsibilities
- Provide electrical system design and architecture for automated manufacturing equipment.
- Perform electrical design, software design, coding, and debugging using AB PLC RS Logix, FactoryTalk View, and MS development tools.
- Create validation and safety documentation including FAT and machine safety reports.
- Provide automation leadership on capital projects, partnering with system integrators and internal teams.
- Develop understanding of Lilly's manufacturing processes, monitor external standards, and mentor EDG staff.
- Champion safe, compliant operations and promote continuous improvement across environments.
