Job summary

Mentor Technical Group seeks an Automation Engineer to promptly resolve shop-floor OT incidents on packaging lines in a US-based facility. You will log activities in ServiceNow, collect data for RCA, and document findings to support continuous improvement.

The role requires PLC/HMI/vision system experience and familiarity with major control platforms (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider Electric, ABB, Beckhoff, B&R). Shift work including overnights is expected.

Qualifications

Proven experience as an Automation Engineer supporting packaging equipment.
Experience troubleshooting and supporting systems involving PLCs, HMIs, and vision systems.
Ability to work within a structured Call Log/ServiceNow environment.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and resolve on-site incidents escalated through the Call Log (Level 1 support).
Collect data and provide technical support for Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
Create and update technical documentation and Knowledge Base articles.
Document all Level 1 troubleshooting activities before escalating to Level 2 support.
Meet established Service Level Objectives (SLOs), including a response time of less than 15 minutes and call-closure data quality above 90%.
