Job summary
Amazon is seeking an Automation Engineer in Perris, California to maximize equipment reliability and operational performance in our fulfillment centers. You will troubleshoot PLC/PC controllers, analyze MHE performance, and drive continuous improvements across the automation landscape, including conveyors, sortation, scanners, cameras, and SCADA programs.
You will work with cross-functional teams, own site-level control systems, provide first-level escalation support, and help optimize material
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in CS, Electrical or Automation or equivalent, or 2+ years PLC/automation experience.
- Experience in PLC based controls design, development, implementation and support.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule including weekends and nights.
Responsibilities
- Maintain automation systems critical for operations and act as site expert.
- Troubleshoot PLC/PC controllers and industrial networks (Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus).
- Monitor MHE metrics and collaborate with maintenance/ops to improve performance.
- Provide first-level escalation support for site technicians locally and remotely.
- Assess building systems to enhance material handling performance.
