Job summary

NeoGenomics in Durham, NC seeks an Automation Engineer to maintain, troubleshoot, and deploy automation within a clinical laboratory. You will work with operations, science staff, and QA to improve workflows and ensure regulatory compliance.

Join a team focused on reliable automated systems, safety, and continuous improvement while supporting 8:30am–5:00pm schedules with occasional off-hours. LIMS familiarity and programming skills are valuable assets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a technical field.
• Experience in laboratory, diagnostics, or manufacturing settings preferred.
• Proficiency with lab automation software and instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with automated workflows and lab automation systems.
• Develop, test, validate, and deploy new automated workflows.
• Collaborate with molecular operations, biomedical engineering, and vendors.
• Train operators on automated instrumentation usage and maintenance.
• Assist with IQOQPQ, qualification, and integration of new software and equipment.
• Document qualification, validation, and technical processes.
• Evaluate new automation technologies and propose value-added applications.
• Develop proficiency in new software platforms and automation systems.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and efficiency gains.
• Maintain clear communication with stakeholders across departments.
• Ensure compliance with CLIA, CAP, FDA, ISO guidelines.
• Support on-call shifts as needed.
