Position Summary & Responsibilities
  1. Interface with various equipment and systems, including PLCs, SCADAs, HMIs, Servers, Databases, Data Historian, Visualization, and other automation equipment.
  2. Support networking aspects such as VLANs, Subnets, and IP protocols.
  3. Support design, optimization, commissioning, or validation of equipment as the automation lead.
  4. Collaborate cross-functionally and assist system owners in process development as the automation SME.
  5. Review and approve requirements, specifications, drawings, coding procedures, and guidelines.
  6. Provide technical guidance and training on systems, software, equipment, machines, procedures, and processes.
  7. Communicate priorities and progress regularly to the team.
  8. Apply high technical ability with a troubleshooting approach to identify and implement fixes.
  9. Review and approve documentation for equipment and process qualification.
  10. Author, review, and revise SOPs and specifications for maintaining equipment, systems, and facilities.
  11. Ensure proper documentation practices during maintenance.
  12. Recommend activities to maintain compliance of area and equipment.
  13. Assess and implement improvements in productivity, waste reduction, quality, and cost.
  14. Lead investigations and studies with minimal supervision.
  15. Interact with regulatory personnel during audits and inspections.
  16. Perform quality audits to ensure devices are functional.
  17. Act as interim manager of the Automation Department in the absence of the Senior Manager.
  18. Provide 24/7 support as part of a rotating on-call system.
  19. Perform other tasks as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  1. Significant experience supporting manufacturing operations in a regulated or cGMP environment.
  2. Experience with automation systems such as Rockwell, Inductive (Ignition), Aveva (Wonderware), Siemens, Emerson (GE), or B&R.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or related field.
  2. Experience with FactoryTalk Batch, Data Historian, and Visualization systems like Aveva PI (OSI PI).
  3. Experience with Microsoft SQL database design.
  4. Knowledge of GAMP 5 and ISA standards.
  5. Knowledge of GMP principles including change control, deviation, CAPA, validation, and qualification.
Additional Conditions

Visual skills, sound interpretation, and reading skills are required for this role.

The target salary range is $115,000 - $160,000 annually, dependent on experience and location.
