Job summary

You will design and implement scalable automated solutions to support manufacturing and distribution, covering mechanical, electrical, safety, PLC/HMI/robotics programming and documentation. The role emphasizes problem-solving, teamwork, and effective communication, with collaboration across Garmin teams in Olathe and Taiwan.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in electrical/industrial/manufacturing engineering, MIS, CS or related field.
• GPA is typically >= 3.0 as a general rule.
• Hands-on automation experience involving robotics, electrical panel design, industrial controls and programming.
• Experience using 2D/3D CAD software (AutoCAD, SOLIDWORKS).
• Strong problem-solving, communication and team collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement automated solutions to support manufacturing and distribution.
• Develop mechanical, electrical, safety, PLC/HMI/robotic programming components.
• Ensure solutions comply with design specifications and document revisions.
• Troubleshoot and continuously improve existing automation.
