Job summary

Quality Electrodynamics (QED) is seeking a Technical Lead for Automated Inspection & Robotics to steer company-wide automation initiatives, machine vision, robotics, and advanced manufacturing technologies. You will align with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Operations, and IT to deploy scalable automation solutions that enhance quality, throughput, and efficiency.

Qualifications

BS degree in Industrial, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Minimum 5 years related manufacturing engineering experience.
Experience leading automation, machine vision, robotics initiatives is preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead company-wide deployment of automated inspection, machine vision, and robotics to improve quality and efficiency.
Define technical strategy and roadmaps for automation efforts and subsystems.
Direct cross-functional teams through design, validation, and production deployment.
Evaluate emerging technologies, vendors, and solutions for best-fit deployment.
Establish standardized approaches for machine vision, robotics, data collection, and system integration.
Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Operations, IT to ensure scalable, maintainable automation.
Manage technical risk and ensure compliance with quality, regulatory, safety, and cybersecurity requirements.
Maintain external partner relationships for technology development and maintenance.
Align NPI requirements with existing operations technologies and long-term roadmap.
Develop business cases to quantify ROI, quality improvements, and capacity gains from automation.
