Job summary
NorthStar Medical Radioisotopes in Beloit, WI, is seeking an Automation Engineer II to design, develop, and commission automation systems for a 24-hour radiopharmaceutical manufacturing site. You will program PLCs and HMIs, work with cross-functional teams, and ensure data integrity and cGMP compliance throughout the production lifecycle.
Responsibilities include coordinating with vendors, maintaining documentation, supporting MES implementations, and mentoring junior engineers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 3+ years in automation or process control.
- Knowledge of automation hardware design and maintenance.
- Experience in a regulated pharmaceutical/medical device environment preferred.
- Siemens automation products knowledge preferred.
Responsibilities
- Design, revise and commission PLC, HMI, and DCS automation systems.
- Develop, code, test, debug and document control software for new designs.
- Implement changes to existing control systems and supervise vendor modifications.
- Maintain automation system documentation and SOPs in a cGMP state.
- Troubleshoot automation systems and train operations staff.
- Support validation per cGMP and regulatory guidance.
