Job summary

ElevateBio, based in Pittsburgh, seeks an Engineer I, Automation to own site automation systems. You will design, program, and troubleshoot automated equipment and control systems, coordinating with QA and Validation to ensure readiness.

Responsibilities span lifecycle support, vendor coordination, documentation, and training. A bachelor’s in engineering and 2+ years in automation are required; familiarity with Rockwell/Siemens PLCs, SCADA, and CSV is key.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or related field.
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in industrial or process automation.
Working Knowledge of industrial networks, communication protocols, and PLCs (Rockwell AB, Siemens).
Control panel and automation hardware design experience.
Experience testing, commissioning and validating computer systems (CSV).
Experience integrating systems with enterprise IT platforms and IAM/SAML (SSO, Azure AD).
Effective leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Support critical automation projects through full lifecycle and keep systems validated post go-live.
Collaborate with Facilities, Engineering and Operations on projects and needs.
Follow design standards for automation platforms (SCADA/Ignition, Rockwell, etc.).
Provide configuration, development, and break/fix support for automation systems.
Manage automation system documentation and author SOPs and training materials.
Support system maintenance and automation lifecycle, including testing and patching.
