Job summary

DELFI Diagnostics, Inc. is seeking an Automation Support Engineer to assist in high-complexity process automation for cancer detection using next-generation sequencing.

The role involves troubleshooting, testing, and verifying automated scripts on liquid handlers and working with cross-functional teams across science, software, and quality assurance. You will help bring Delfi’s instrumentation through development, verification, validation, and into clinical use, ensuring adherence to CAP, CLIA,

Qualifications

• B.S. or higher in engineering, biology, or a related field.
• Strong analytical problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
• Able to learn quickly and work well in cross-functional teams.
• Experience with lab automation or liquid handling is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support, maintain, test, and troubleshoot liquid handling platforms (e.g., Hamilton, Tecan, Beckman).
• Perform routine maintenance on lab instruments and ensure sample integrity.
• Coordinate instrument qualification activities (IQ/OQ/PQ) and vendor service scheduling.
• Diagnose instrument failures and minimize impact on workflows.
• Create, maintain SOPs and maintenance logs compliant with CAP/CLIA/NY regulatory rules.
• Document troubleshooting with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
