Job summary

DELFI Diagnostics, Inc. is seeking an onsite Assay Development Scientist to drive the development and validation of multiomics molecular diagnostics for early cancer detection. You will design verification studies and collaborate with QA, regulatory, and R&D to ensure design controls are met.

The role emphasizes hands-on NGS work, liquid biopsy expertise, and strong data-driven decision making within a regulated environment. Onsite days are required for lab work and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Molecular Biology or related field required.
• 2+ years of experience developing molecular or genomic assays.
• Hands-on NGS assay development experience, preferably with liquid biopsies.
• Experience with DOE, assay optimization, and data-driven decisions.
• Experience in a Design Control / regulated environment (FDA 21 CFR Part 820, ISO 14971, ISO 13485).
• Strong analytical skills and ability to communicate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize assay, reagent, and QC parameters for multiomic assays.
• Execute analytical validation and design verification studies; transfer designs as assigned.
• Collaborate with R&D, Lab Ops, Biostatistics, and QA/Regulatory to execute study plans.
• Draft study protocols and reports for review and records.
• Contribute to FDA PMA submission packages under manager guidance.
• Prepare data summaries for formal design reviews and milestones.
• Contribute to Delfi's design control processes across the product life cycle.
• Provide technical guidance to junior staff on validated methods.
