Job summary

TC Energy Corp. is seeking an Automation Engineer to support the safe, reliable operation of control systems at compressor stations and related facilities. The role focuses on maintaining and improving automation systems while collaborating with field operations across North America.

The successful candidate will diagnose issues, manage changes, and provide technical guidance on PLCs, HMIs, networks, and instrumentation. A hybrid work model is offered, with opportunities across the U.S.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related program.
Six or more years of related experience.
Experience maintaining and troubleshooting electrical, instrumentation, automation, and control systems.
Ability to interpret electrical drawings, control narratives, and network diagrams.
Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Provide direct technical support to field operations for automation and control systems.
Diagnose malfunctions and implement corrective actions.
Troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, networks, data-acquisition systems, and instrumentation.
Coordinate software and control-logic changes per change-management and documentation requirements.
Support lifecycle management of control-system components.
Review designs to ensure maintainability and reliability.
Assist with project design reviews, commissioning, and testing.
