Job summary

Constellium Muscle Shoals, a major aluminum can sheet producer in Alabama, is seeking an Automation Engineer for hot rolling operations. You will plan, implement, and monitor automation to improve efficiency across the rolling process, designing solutions, validating and testing equipment, and documenting installations.

Responsibilities include leading automation projects, providing training, and troubleshooting during after-hours support as needed.

Qualifications

Engineering Degree with 3–5 years' experience in a plant technical role (rolling industry preferred).
Proficient with schematics, PLC code, and LV/MV equipment.
Ability to design, validate, and troubleshoot automation systems.
Willingness for remote after-hours technical support.

Responsibilities

Identifying new opportunities for automation and design
Management of a project team when necessary
Designing new automation equipment or processes
Simulating and testing these processes or equipment to ensure they function as desired
Development of documentation for the new equipment and processes
Programming new automated components to the manufacturing process
Developing and maintaining clear and accurate documentation of automation equipment or processes
Provide training where necessary
Troubleshooting automated processes or equipment when errors occur
