Job summary

Jobot is recruiting for an Automation Engineer in our Kentucky manufacturing facility. You will own automation initiatives from concept through deployment, collaborating with production, quality, maintenance, and engineering teams to deliver high-impact improvements.

The role offers a strong focus on robotics, PLCs, vision systems, and advanced manufacturing technologies within a highly automated environment, with opportunity for long-term career growth and leadership exposure.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a technical field is required.
3+ years of automation engineering experience in manufacturing, preferably automotive.
Hands-on PLC programming and troubleshooting experience.
Experience with robotics, HMI/SCADA, vision systems, and machine controls.
Familiarity with lean/continuous improvement methodologies is highly valued.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and implement automated manufacturing systems including robotics, PLCs, vision systems, conveyors, and automated production equipment.
Program and troubleshoot PLC and HMI/SCADA systems for high-volume production.
Integrate new automation technologies into existing processes.
Optimize equipment performance to improve throughput, quality, uptime, and OEE.
Lead root-cause analysis and implement long-term corrective actions for automation issues.
Support preventive maintenance strategies for automated equipment.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement.
Lead automation projects from concept to implementation with vendors.
