Job summary

Amazon in Perrysburg, OH is seeking an Automation Engineering Apprentice (AEA) to learn equipment troubleshooting and maintenance of material handling equipment (MHE) such as conveyors and sortation systems.

During on-the-job learning you will work with high-performance manufacturing systems, be mentored by senior technicians, and develop safety-focused, proactive maintenance skills. This onsite apprenticeship offers hands-on training within Amazon's Reliability & Maintenance Engineering teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ years of Mechatronics/Robotics Technician experience.
• 1+ years of Microsoft Office experience.
• Flexibility to work weekends, nights, and holidays.
• Ability to commute to the specified work site and complete a 2-year onsite apprenticeship.
• Completion of a 12-week training program at a designated provider.

Responsibilities

• Conduct preventative/corrective maintenance and basic troubleshooting of robotics and robotic work cells.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems related to material handling equipment components.
• Maintain and troubleshoot motors, sensors, relays, and control systems.
• Assist with basic electronics/PLC troubleshooting.
• Move up to 49 lbs and work shifts up to 12 hours, including climbing ladders and bending.
