Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield is seeking an Automation Engineer Apprentice to learn and support maintenance of automated packaging and distribution equipment at a Fort Wayne site. You will assist with installation, preventive maintenance, and repair of MHE, while growing skills under senior technicians in a complex manufacturing environment.

The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and developing the ability to analyze and troubleshoot high-performance systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year RME Mechatronics & Robotics Technician experience
• Flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays
• Able to commute to specified site
• High school diploma or GED
• 1+ years of experience using Microsoft Office products
• Able to enroll in, attend, and complete a 12-week training at a designated training area
• Able to commit to a 2-year onsite apprenticeship post-12 week training
• Knowledge of Basic Mathematics

Responsibilities

• Conduct preventative/corrective maintenance and basic troubleshooting of robotics and robotic work cells
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems related to all material handling equipment components
• Maintain and troubleshoot motors, photo eyes, relays, proximity sensors, solenoids, motor starters, tachs, etc.
• Assist with basic electronics and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) troubleshooting
• Must be able to move up to 49lbs, stand and walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, climb ladders and gangways safely and without limitation, as well as perform regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching both below the waist and above the head
