Job summary

Payoneer is seeking an experienced QA Automation Engineer to build test automation for cross-border payments. You will design and implement the first automation framework for our Java microservices, covering API/integration and Web UI testing to ensure reliability across platforms.

You will automate end-to-end flows, validate data across databases, integrate tests into CI/CD, and collaborate with product, engineering, and security teams in a multi-vendor environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of test automation experience in fintech or cross-border financial systems.
• 3+ years in a high-tech/fintech company or core payments modules preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS, SE, or related field.
• Hands-on API/integration and Web UI automation; proficient in Java or Python; strong HTTP/API testing and SQL validation.

We are seeking an experiencedQA Automation Engineerfor our cross-border payment systems. You will join the QA team tobuild test automation from the ground up— we currently have no centralized automation framework. Your focus will coverAPI/integration automation and Web UI automationacross the full platform, ensuring the reliability and quality of our cross-border payment systems.

What you'll do

• Automation Strategy & Framework (0-to-1):Design and implement the team's first automation framework for our Java microservices platform; define automation scope, test data strategy, and reporting standards for both API/integration and UI layers.
• End-to-End System Automation:Build repeatable automated test suites covering core cross-border payment platform flows — including open APIs, backoffice services, UI workflows, and cross-service async chains — to support regression of core business scenarios.
• Async & File-Based Testing:Automate validation of scheduled jobs, message-driven flows, and file-based business processes; verify multi-step, cross-service state transitions and outcomes.
• Database & State Validation:Develop SQL-based assertions across multiple databases to verify transaction state machines, processing results, and cross-service data consistency.
• Defect & Quality Assurance:Track issue resolution, verify fixes, and ensure automated test results meet release quality standards; report progress and risks regularly.
• CI/CD & Smoke Automation:Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Alibaba Cloud DevOps / Codeup or similar); build and maintain smoke/connectivity checks for key dependencies before release.
• Cross-Team Collaboration:Work closely with cross-functional teams on environment readiness, test data setup, and release validation in a complex multi-vendor payment environment.
• Compliance & Standards:Ensure automation coverage aligns with financial regulatory and payment-industry quality requirements.

Who you are

• 5+ yearsof test automation / test development experience, with preference for payment, fintech, or cross-border financial systems.
• 3+ yearsworking experience in a high-tech or fintech company, or hands-on experience in core modules of cross-border payments or third-party payments — preferred, not required.
• Education:Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields.
• Technical Skills:Extensive hands-on experience in API/integration and Web UI automation; proficient with mainstream automation frameworks and able to independently design, build, or maintain automation systems; proficient inJava or Python; strong skills in HTTP/API testing and database (SQL) validation; familiar with message queue / scheduled job scenarios;CI/CD integration experience is a plus(Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Alibaba Cloud DevOps / 云效).
• Personal Attributes:Strong sense of ownership and fast learning;meticulous and rigorousin test design and troubleshooting; strong problem-localization skills — read logs, trace state transitions across microservices, and distinguish environment, data, and code issues.
• Preferred:Experience building automation frameworks or smoke-test tooling from 0 to 1; performance testing experience (e.g., JMeter); familiarity with Redis, OpenFeign call chains, and SFTP/file-based testing; ability to build small internal test tools when needed. Node.js experience is a plus, not required.
