Job summary

Haywood Vocational Opportunities Inc is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on our production and facilities equipment in North Carolina. Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical associate's degree preferred.
• Minimum of one year of related experience in automated equipment and/or industrial maintenance.
• NC electrical license may earn preferred compensation.
• One year of machine shop experience, including welding and cutting.
• Demonstrated mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Ability to use hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on production, support, and facilities equipment.
• Troubleshoots issues with production, support, or facilities equipment.
• Demonstrates the ability to troubleshoot, program, and repair equipment controls and automation.
• Assists technicians with equipment training to bring proficiency and opportunity for advancement.
• Identifies opportunities for maintenance improvements or activities during inspections or daily Gemba walks.
• Identifies parts required to perform maintenance and communicates stock outages to maintenance support personnel.
• Inspect, advise, perform, and/or schedule repairs on equipment and facility.
• Inspect, advise, perform, and/or schedule building maintenance and repairs.
• Perform setup of equipment to assist production personnel.
• Promptly confer with the immediate supervisor of any problems that may arise in carrying out the above responsibilities.
• Repair and fabricate jigs and devices for production.
• Perform advanced electrical tasks, including troubleshooting equipment.
• Maintain and troubleshoot building safety controls.
