Job summary

Wagstaff Inc. is seeking an Electrical Engineer to apply automation knowledge to the design, development, and production of Wagstaff automated casting equipment.

You will become familiar with Wagstaff aluminum casting equipment, participate in defining electrical requirements with Sales-driven scope, and create design documents for customer approval and production. This role requires traveling to customer sites for commissioning and ongoing support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering required.
• Travel domestic and international as needed.
• Ability to design PLC-based control systems and architectures.
• Excellent technical communication and collaboration with teams.

Responsibilities

• Familiarize with Wagstaff aluminum casting equipment and design criteria.
• Define electrical engineering and automation requirements with project teams.
• Create design documents for customer approval and production.
• Serve as Wagstaff’s primary technical contact for electrical issues.
• Provide evaluations prioritizing safety, functionality, and cost.
• Design PLC-based control systems and related architectures.
• Program PLCs for direct chill pits and device control.
• Develop SCADA and HMI systems; test hardware/software.
• Travel to customer sites for commissioning as needed.
• Maintain clean, safe work areas and comply with policies.
