Job summary

Wolfspeed, Inc. is seeking an Automation Engineer focused on Building Automation Systems and automated facilities for our production environment. You will specialize in SCADA programming, PLC troubleshooting, OT network administration, and continuous improvement of processes.

The role involves designing, configuring, and maintaining automation hardware/software (Allen-Bradley PLCs, VFDs, SCADA displays), documenting specifications, and supporting ISO quality processes with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering or related field.
PLC programming in Allen-Bradley ControlLogix and CompactLogix platforms.
Siemens PLC programming experience.
HMI/SCADA programming in Ignition, FactoryTalk View SE/ME, with related instrumentation and field I/O devices.
Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics.
Strong problem-solving and independent troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

Program, configure, and maintain automation hardware and software (PLCs, VFDs, SCADA displays, reporting, remote alarm software).
Data monitoring and analysis for process improvements and issue resolution.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop automation solutions.
Create and review change controls, SOPs, drawings, and related documentation.
Develop and maintain system documentation and design reports.
Read and update wiring diagrams, schematics, and P&IDs.
Provide after-hours on-call support to facilities/manufacturing.
Support ISO compliance and internal audits.
Troubleshoot OT network communication and security risks.
Lead cross-functional project teams to achieve objectives.
