Job summary
Diamondback E&P LLC in Midland, Texas is seeking an Automation Engineer to design packages for battery and well pad PLCs, develop scope of work documents, and optimize electrical drawings. This role requires strong project management skills and the ability to work autonomously on greenfield and brownfield assets.
You will support safety and industry codes, coordinate with vendors and internal teams, track budgets and KPIs, and stay current with automation technologies while driving reliable
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Automation, Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum of five (5) years' experience in Electrical & Automation.
- Advanced Allen-Bradley Automation Knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and industry codes (API, IEEE, ANSI, NFPA 70/70E, ISA).
- Develop technical design packages for facilities and well pads, including PLC/panel design and cause-and-effect.
- Support and optimize standard electrical and automation drawings and specifications.
- Manage and support the arc flash program and capital projects (AFEs, budgets, forecasts).
- Coordinate with internal teams and vendors to align projects with drilling, completions, and power generation needs.
- Track project estimates, actuals, cash flow, and financial KPIs.
