Job summary

Diamondback Energy seeks an Automation Engineer to create technical design packages, manage projects, and optimize PLC/panel systems for facilities and well pads in Midland, TX. The role requires strong management skills and a proactive, autonomous work style.

You will support greenfield and brownfield assets, collaborate with stakeholders, and maintain high-quality engineering drawings and specifications while learning new software and processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Automation, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum of five years’ experience in Electrical & Automation.
• Advanced Allen-Bradley Automation Knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Develop design packages for facilities and well pads, including PLC/panel design and cable schedules.
• Support and optimize standard electrical and automation drawings and specifications.
• Manage and support the arc flash program.
• Provide automation and electrical support for greenfield and brownfield assets.
• Coordinate with internal teams and vendors to align with drilling, completions, and power needs.
• Identify risks to production schedules and report to leadership.
• Manage capital projects, AFEs, bids, budgets, and cash flow tracking.
