Job summary

Clasen Quality Coatings, Inc. in Milton, WI, is seeking an Electrical Controls Engineer to design, program, troubleshoot, and optimize automation systems for plant and building operations.

You will collaborate with 3rd party integrators and multiple engineering disciplines to execute capital projects and support operations. The role involves supervising contractors, directing electrical activities, and guiding power distribution design, with up to 10% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field or 5+ years of experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in manufacturing, preferably in food.
• Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Project.
• Familiar with UL Standards, NEC Codes (NFPA 70, 70E, and 79).
• Demonstrated proficiency with Siemens is desired.

Responsibilities

• Program Automation Control Systems for plant processes and building automation.
• Direct contractors/vendors on electrical activities related to projects.
• Write and revise detailed Functional Specifications for Automated Control Systems.
• Create and update Electrical Schematics for panel building and control system wiring.
• Create and update P&IDs for plant processes and building systems.
• Travel domestically to support implementation and commissioning of electrical systems within CQC.
• Work with vendors to specify hardware and software.
• Review, approve and participate in design of plant power distribution systems including medium voltage equipment and hardware.
• Support plant operations and maintenance for troubleshooting of electrical/automation systems.
• Responsible for training and development of internal maintenance personnel to a proficient level.
