Job summary

Dodge & Cox is seeking a hybrid Investment Operations professional in San Francisco to blend core daily operations with engineering automation and AI-enabled improvements across Portfolio Operations workflows.

The role focuses on custodian reconciliation, corporate actions, pricing oversight, and class actions, working with custodian banks, trade settlements, fund accounting, and client service teams while building automation and AI tooling to strengthen operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; computer science, information systems, engineering, finance, or accounting preferred.
• Proficiency with Python for data manipulation, scripting, and workflow automation is required.
• Proficiency with SQL, including writing queries and joins to extract and analyze data.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience in investment operations, reconciliation, or related financial operations preferred.
• Experience with portfolio reconciliation and accounting systems (Electra, Eagle STAR, Bloomberg, Excel).
• Exposure to AI tools such as Microsoft 365 Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or workflow automation platforms is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile internal investment accounting records to custodian banks; own exceptions end-to-end.
• Support core Portfolio Operations functions including corporate actions, pricing oversight, and broker oversight.
• Prepare monthly client reports and create customized reporting as needed.
• Design, build, and maintain AI-assisted workflows and automation; define metrics and validation processes.
• Collaborate with AI Working Group, Technology, Compliance, Risk, and Legal for governance.
