Job summary

Telligen is seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer in a hybrid role based in West Des Moines. You will be embedded in a scrum team, developing production-grade test automation, mentoring peers, and driving whole-team quality across the product line.

You will design and own automation frameworks, define testing standards, and coach engineers to elevate quality as a shared responsibility within the team. This role requires strong coding skills and hands-on framework development.

Qualifications

4-year degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field or equivalent hands-on experience.
5+ years of software engineering experience with focus on quality and test automation.
Deep proficiency in at least one programming language: Java, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
Hands-on experience building test automation frameworks from the ground up.
Strong knowledge of integration and regression testing strategies.
Experience with browser-based end-to-end automation (Playwright, Cypress, Selenium).
Experience with BDD tooling (Cucumber) and Gherkin-style criteria.
Proven experience in Agile/Scrum environments and PR reviews.
Ability to work in West Des Moines office 3 days/week.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain test automation frameworks from scratch for integration, regression, and end-to-end tests.
Write maintainable test code using Playwright, Cucumber, and related tools.
Establish and evolve testing standards across product lines.
Set up test environments and data pipelines to support reliable automated tests.
Contribute to CI/CD improvements so tests run on every build.
Pair and mob with engineers to embed testing in sprint work.
Lead sessions and enable others to write tests; define early acceptance criteria.
