Job summary

Zipline, based in South San Francisco, is hiring an Electrical Engineer, Production Test to own electrical, functional, and automated test systems for scale manufacturing. You will lead end-to-end test system delivery for factory floors, prioritizing safety, traceability, and measurable yield improvements.

This onsite-first role may require travel to other sites or vendors for launches and validations. The position sits in the Manufacturing Engineering team with an emphasis on high-throughput

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience designing and delivering production test solutions.
• Proven track record delivering automated test equipment for electro-mechanical products.
• Experience with manufacturing floor support during launches and escalations.

Responsibilities

• Develop instrumentation, harnesses, connectors, DAQ, power delivery and electrical test interfaces.
• Debug PCBA-level failures and establish pass/fail limits with design and quality partners.
• Own design, delivery, and sustainment of production testers and calibration stations.
• Define tester acceptance criteria, limits, GR&R, and production release criteria.
• Architect and implement electrical and functional testers for high throughput lines.
• Implement test automation and data pipelines (Python, LabVIEW/TestStand) for reproducible tests.
• Improve first-pass yield, tester uptime, and per-unit cycle time.
• Troubleshoot escalations on the floor and coordinate with multiple teams.
• Lead cross-functional launches with Manufacturing, Quality, Techs, and Vendors.
• Produce and maintain test documentation and calibration plans.
